The PRP Hair Restoration service is a revolutionizing hair loss treatment, and we are delighted to be able to offer it to our patients. Our goal at NexGen Health & Wellness is that every patient leaves our clinic feeling more confident inside and out.
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP injections are quickly gaining popularity for a variety of reasons. This treatment uses our patient’s blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area, including the hairline.
PRP therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical procedure. It starts with drawing the patient’s blood.
Next, the blood is put into a machine called a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins the blood tube to separate the red blood cells from the plasma.
Lastly, the plasma, which is rich in platelets, is injected directly into the scalp right where the hair follicles are level.
Studies have shown that PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and then maintain it by increasing the blood supply to the hair follicles, thus increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. This process is occasionally combined with medications and other hair-loss procedures.
However, this is more than just a one-and-done procedure because hair growth happens in cycles. The patient will need to have treatments performed once a month over three to four months, depending on how well the patient responds to the treatment. The patient will likely see results around the two to the three-month mark. Many patients have reported that they are delighted with the results as it grows naturally, because you do not look like you have had any work done.
